Today’s question is an important one that everyone in orthodontic treatment needs to know the answer to!

Q: “Do I still need to go to my General Dentist while I am in braces?

“When we all work together as a team, we can make sure we are all on the same page and that you get the best results possible

— Dr. Susan Park, DDS

Dr. Park: “Yes!  It is even more important that you see your general dentist on a regular basis when you’re in braces!  While braces are great, it does take some getting used to and requires you to figure out new ways of keeping your teeth clean and healthy.  Your dentist can ensure that you are doing everything correctly and help you along the way, whether that be with more frequent cleanings or catching a cavity before it gets too big.  Furthermore, it is always best to have your dentist in the loop because they can help plan the best outcome before, during, and after the braces come off.  When we all work together as a team, we can make sure we are all on the same page and that you get the best results possible. “
